I am Chicky Gorat and I hail from Connecticut. My first passion is gardening. I have owned my own landscaping business for almost thirty five years. Love getting my hands dirty.  I have moved steadily west, with a ten year stop in Denver, Colorado. Moved to Northern Idaho in 1993. 

My second passion is photography.  I love taking photos of landscapes, old buildings, flowers and (animals, which is probably my second passion.)  My adventures of photography started in my early twenties, with my 35 mm Minolta camera. I gave many classes on plant material and design, all being done with my slides.  I have since graduated to a digital Nikon. I am known as a purest with my photography, but with this new camera, it has opened my eyes to new possibilities. I’m enjoying learning all the different settings on my new camera. The end results vary in so many ways. I am always learning, as I do with my gardening. I do hope you enjoy the images that I have created.
